Description
The watch remains in fine condition. Large and heavy case measuring 57mm with an impressive weight of 140 grams. No personal engravings on either side of the savonette case. The case shows no dents or flaws except for one scratch on the lid which can be easily removed by polishing if preferred (see pictures).
As stated by A Lange & Söhne in their certificate we find that this ‘Goldene Herrentaschenuhr Kal 43 – viertelrepetition’ with movement and case number 67020 was sold on 12 September 1911 for a sum of 701 Deutsche Gold Mark.
The overall condition, plus the fact that the watch is stil accompanied by its original box and 1911 certificate indicates that the owners of this timepiece have taken well care of this fine and valuable timepiece.
The white enamel dial features black ‘Breguet’ style numerals and a sunken decentralized seconds hand. Beautiful fancy golden openwork hour and minute hand.
All lids closing tightly and the front lid smoothly opening when the top button is pushed down. Winding effortlessly and running with fine accuracy (+ 3 seconds every 24h, amplitude of 327º).
The refined movement is made out of their famous high standards and well known A Lange & Söhne quality.
Fine finishing with blued steel screws and a swan neck regulator.
Both the box and the certificate remain in pristine condition. There’s a spare crystal and mainspring present.
This full set and wonderful condition A Lange & Söhne Repeater pocket watch is one of very few offered for sale in Europe, ready to be adopted by a dedicated collector.
