The watch remains in superb condition. The 18 carat rosé gold case, measuring 56mm in diameter and impressively weighing 132 grams, showcases plain and classical lids without any patterns or engravings. The inside dustcover reveals a personal engraving telling us this watch has been gifted during Christmas in 1909.
The case shows minimal signs of use, no deep scratches nor dents, indicating this watch has been taken well care of throughout its life since its production 120 year ago (made in approx. 1900/1910).
All lids securely close whilst the front lid smoothly opens when the top button is pressed down. The watch winds effortlessly and operates with remarkable accuracy (±3 seconds off every 24 hours) and an amplitude of 256º.
The refined movement adheres to A Lange & Söhne’s renowned high standards and exceptional quality, even more so considering this example is fitted with a more exceptional movement distinguishing itself from the vast majority of A Lange repeater timepieces.
It boasts fine finishing with blued steel screws, large red rubies which are all fitted with screwed chattons and a hand engraved balance bridge with swan neck regulator.
The white enamel dial features black ‘Breguet’ style numerals and a sunken decentralized seconds hand, complemented by beautifully crafted golden openwork hour, minute and second hands. Note that the dial shows a faint hairline, almost invisible to the naked eye.
The overall condition and high quality finishing, coupled with the fact that the watch is accompanied by its original box and certificate, all adds up to what we believe would be a rare opportunity to enrich ones collection with this fine example.
Both the box and the certificate remain in pristine condition. A spare crystal and mainspring are included.
This complete set, combined with the watch’s outstanding condition, makes this A Lange & Söhne Repeater pocket watch one of the few available for sale in Europe, an ideal acquisition for devoted collectors.
