Description

Very attractive and large rose gold quarter repeater pocket watch by Chevalier & Cochet made in Geneva around 1800.

This large and heavy example remains in an exceptional overall condition, even more so considering this watch is over 200 years old.

The signed enamel dial features black Arabic hour indications, outer minute indication and rose gold hands. The hole in the dial to wind the watch is still perfectly intact, unlike many similar examples where damage can be found in the enamel, indicating this watch has not been worn much throughout its life.

The sturdy plain rose gold case shows little wear. The case bears the number 328618, 18 carat gold hallmarks can be found on both the pendant and inner case.

Signed and numbered brass inner protective case.
The verge fusee movement is as clean as it gets, with perfectly working repeating mechanism striking clear tones on both the hours and quarters. The movement is from outstanding quality, beautiful hand engraved balance bridge with exceptionally large diamond endstone.
