LeCoultre Minute Repeater Retailed by Ed Gasser

LeCoultre (just like JLC now) is well known for their ability of making high grade complicated movements. Their calibers are made entirely in-house making them one of the few manufactures that can actually produce a complicated watch movement from start to finish. This fine example was retailed by Ed Gasser from Geneva.

Description

In superb condition, a LeCoultre minute repeater retailed by Ed Gasser from Geneve.

LeCoultre has provided a number of watchmakers and retailers with their high grade repeater movements around the 1900s. We find the makers mark stamped in the movement below the repeater gong (see pictures).

The signed enamel dial features black Breguet style hour indications and blued steel Breguet hands. Red outer minute indication and a decentralized seconds hand. The almost immaculate dial is showing a thin hairline between the 1 and 2 hour position.

Heavy case made in 18K rosé gold with matching case numbers and a retailers signature on the inner dust cover. No dents or deep scratches, both lids closing tightly.

The LeCoultre minute repeater movement is from outstanding quality showing multiple adjusted rubies, elegant bridges and facetted mirror polished repeater hammers. The clean movement is running with great accuracy and perfectly working repeating mechanism.
