Description
Decentralized sub-seconds with ‘Chronometro Gondolo’ signature above.
The rose gold casing shows detailled guilloche engraving. The sturdy case with both lids closing tightly shows little signs of use except for a tiny dent in the edge.
In comparison to same era PP pocket watches, the Gondolo models features a fine and ‘busy’ full engraved dust cover, bearing the retailers name of the Brazilian Jeweler.
This bond between the watchmaker and jeweler resulted in the creation of timepieces – designed exclusively for the Brazilian retailer – named the “Chronometro Gondolo”.
The collection initially consisted only of pocket watches, before the first wristwatches appeared in the 1920s.
The chronometer movement runs with a high amplitude (327°) and good accuracy (+15 sec/day).
The watch is accompanied by its extract from the archives indicating the watch was sold on the 31st of October, 1905.
Weight: 133,5 Grams.
Diameter without crown/pendant: 55.8 Millimeters.
Diameter with crown: 69.6 Millimeters.
Diameter with loop: 78.3 Millimeters.
