The condition of this featured example is undeniably stunning. We find no signs of restoration or replacement parts. The presence of the original box tells us this watch has been carefully looked after in the previous ±120 years.
Starting with the high quality enamel dial we find the rather uncommon golden accents gracefully used to uplift the aesthetics in an elegant simple manner. The minute indication together with the seconds sub register are written a raised mat gold lettering. This, together with the graceful hour markers font and the fancy openwork hands add up to one of the more aesthetically pleasing PP configurations from that era.
The sturdy rose gold case bears the French ‘Owl’ gold hallmark indicating that the case was made in Switzerland, but has been exported to France where it was examined by the French customs fineness standards agency, where it received this 0.750 (18K) gold fineness hallmark.
The inside dust cover is signed by Patek Philippe with matching serial number to the movement (97956).
Movement made out of the higher Swiss horology standards with wolf tooth winding gears, large red rubies and mirror polished repeater hammers. Both the movement and the repeating mechanism work perfectly as they should, keeping accurate timing and striking clear tones on both the hours and the quarters.
The original red leather Patek Philippe presentation box remains in fine condition without any signs of damage. the bottom side of the box shows the French PP sales sticker confirming the exportation to a most likely Paris based store, which is a rarity.
