Exceptional Patek Philippe pocket watch retailed by Spaulding & Co., Chicago.
This split seconds chronograph is made of the highest standards by Patek Philippe at the time, a complicated pocket watch like this was made for the prime collectors and wealthiest men around the world. This piece remains in fully original and unrestored condition, complete with its original presentation box.
The white enamel dial features black Arabic hour indication, the minutes and seconds are written in a bright gold color. Beautiful composition working very well together with the blued steel ‘spade’ hands. The dial shows some tiny spots at the centre, but the overall condition is very good.
The 18 carat rose gold case is heavy and sturdy. The case shows some normal wear throughout consistent with its age. There is a small crack at the bottom of the back of the case, which is not visible on the inside of the lid. The inside of the dust cover has visible superficial scratches (possibly made for testing the gold), these can easily be polished away if desired. All three lids close tightly as they should. Multiple gold hallmarks, Spaulding & Co. Signature and a PP stamp, the case and movement number are matching.
The movement is made of the absolute best quality, runs accurate on time with a solid tick. The movement is signed both by Patek Philippe and Spaulding & Co.
The rattrapante/split seconds chronograph works like it should with both hands starting, stopping and resetting flawlessly.
