Rolex Enamel Silver Ball Pendant Watch – 1919

In our opinion always an exciting sight to find something so unfamiliar from such a well discovered brand. These pendant ball timepieces originally date back to the 1900s when they were first made. Produced for women to be worn around their neck with the idea of wrist watches not being fancy enough. Scroll down to read more.

Description

Uncommon rarity in exceptional condition; a near perfect Rolex pendant ‘Ball-Watch’ in 925 silver with fine purple/gold guilloche enamel decoration.

The ball watch features an immaculate white enamel dial with black Arabic hour indication.

The ball is fully decorated with detailled guilloche patterns below a striking purple and gold enamel coating.
Making this piece even rarer is the fact that the fragile case remains in perfect unblemished condition showing no chips, scratches or cracks throughout.

The inside of the snap back shows distinct Rolex, 0.925 silver, W&D (Wilsdorf and Davies) hallmarks alongside a serial number and London stamped ‘d’ year hallmark dating this watch back to 1919.

The Rolex signed movement is typically used in the smaller sized gents and larger sized ladies wrist watches from the 40s/50s and 60s. Movement is clean and winds/runs smooth keeping very accurate timing (± 10 seconds off every 24 hours).

The ball pendant is accompanied by a silver chatelaine/chain.
