Rare Rolex timepiece issued for the British military in the 40s.
Complete original timepiece in honest collectible condition (please note that the acrylic crystal has been replaced by a glass crystal, the Crystal shows some residue from the sticker at the 1/2 hour position).
Unmistakably military influences such as the black dial with large Arabic hour indications and lume filled ‘Cathedral’ hands.
The Rolex signed dial features a military serial number, swiss made signature and decentralized seconds hand.
The enamel dial remains in very good condition with some minor signs of use.
The glossy black dial with gilded hour markers create a stunning appearance.
The strong nickel case shows no dents or deep scratches. Both screw down lids close tightly.
The G.S.MK.II case back inscription indicates this particular piece was addressed to the the Military of Defense department.
The Cal. 526 movement is clean and runs with high amplitude and a solid tick. Keeping time corresponding to the standards of a watch from this period.
